When children are engaged in activities which align with their interests, their psychosocial development are enhanced. They not only learn a variety of useful skills, they learn to express themselves, go on a journey of self-discovery, and grow into adulthood with an authentic set of characteristics and values.

Over the past years Suiderberg school’s athletes performed well at both school and provincial level. The Inter School meets produces outstanding athletic achievement where athletes had to fight hard to secure placements.

One positive aspect of Inter School athletic competitions is the healthy, respectful camaraderie shown amongst athletes from the various schools. This is mostly due to the fact that the same athletes compete against each other in the same events which could last all of five athletic seasons.

During the Gauteng Championships the athletes had to work even harder to secure a place in the Gauteng Team. Over the past years Suiderberg School have had over 10 athletes in the Gauteng team. At the SA Championships our athletes preformed well. Some of them received medals and even a SA record.

2022

Suiderberg School participated in several friendly events, about 120 athletes competed in the LSEN regional meeting. 21 Athletes were chosen for the Gauteng LSEN Athletics team.

They took part at Germinston stadion over 3 days. Owami Dube, girl u/15 received a bronze medal for high jump and a silver medal in the relay race.

Keyshia Jonathan, a U/14 girl ran the the relay race for the U/18 girls and received a silver medal.
