SUIDERBERG FOOTBALL

We have football as one of our school’s sporting codes and we use it for our learners to reach their full potential as soccer players. We use football as a drive to unearth their God-given talent while their well-being is also been taken care of through playing football.

OUR TEAMS

We have five football teams in our school. The teams consist of four teams of boys and one team of girls. The teams are playing in age groups being U14 Boys, U15 Boys, U16 Boys, U19 Boys and U19 Girls. Each age group have its own coach and the girls have a female soccer coach.

LOCAL LEAGUE

We participate in the local Tshwane LSEN league with all the above age groups. The league consists of seven LSEN schools that are in and around Tshwane, starting from the third term of the year. The winners in every age group get an opportunity to partake in knock out competitions against Johannesburg LSEN schools as to who will represent Gauteng in this age group.

COMPETITIONS

After completion of the knock out games the winners of every age group gets an opportunity to compete in the Noordvaal competition where we compete against other Provinces. During these competitions, players are being identified to play in the Gauteng LSEN team that competes in the Provincial knockouts. At this level, only the U19 Boys and U19 Girls teams are being identified.

FUN TIME

We have an annual LSEN Soccer Day Event where all Gauteng LSEN schools bring the U19 Boys and U19 Girls teams to the event. We have twenty-seven LSEN schools taking part in this event on a yearly basis. We have soccer scouts gracing this occasion annually and learners are being scouted for local football teams. Winning schools receive trophies and players receive medals and certificates of participation every year.
